Technical Volunteers
If
you have technical skills in software, hardware, or communications -- or an
interest in developing them -- please join us! You'll be able to use and increase
your technical abilities and at the same time help support grassroots organizations
here in Boston and in developing countries. You can bring what you know as
well as learn a new skill -- for example installing a hard disk or creating
web pages --while supporting a wide variety of organizations working for social
justice.
We
have lots of volunteer opportunities for people who want to share their knowledge
while sharpening their skills:
-
Help
teach multimedia applications (DreamWeaver, PhotoShop, audio and/or video
applications) to young people in the summer or school-year afternoons. Click
here for more on YouthTech.
-
- Stop by on Saturday
afternoons, anytime from 1:00 to 4:00pm, to help us diagnose, test and prepare
computers for shipment to a grassroots group in other countries. Click
here for details.
Non-Technical
Volunteers
We have a great need for volunteers with non-technical skills who can:
- tutor
young people on media literacy in our YouthTech program, summers and afterschool;
- write articles and/or
hellp edit our newsletter;
- assist with fundraising
events, phoning, grant writing, and appeal letter writing;
- do data entry;
- expand our outreach
to the community;
- help us get media
coverage;
- and lots more!
